Bill King '44

Bill King, Class of 1944, made a generous gift to the Pooled Income Fund in 1995. He added to it in 1997. Bill and his wife, Barbara, will receive income for life. Recently they made a third significant gift establishing separate Pooled Income accounts for their two daughters, who will receive income for their lifetimes.

Why this gift, Bill? "Having accumulated some very low cost, low yielding stock that had increased materially, Barbara and I decided that we could benefit both Taft and our children by contributing to the Pooled Income Fund. While it cuts into the 'exclusion,' my daughters will receive a high yield for the rest of their lives, and we will be able to take advantage of a tax deduction."
